- Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026. Expect Amazon's White Friday and noon's Yellow Friday to run from about 20 to 30 November.
- Amazon's 2026 deadline for Lightning Deals, Best Deals and coupons is 19 November on both Amazon.sa and Amazon.ae.
- A Saudi sale on your own store needs a Ministry of Commerce discount licence (SAR 300). Dubai stores need a DET permit before they advertise a discount.
- UAE Facebook CPMs peaked at $23.52 in November 2025. Build audiences in October and spend the peak on retargeting.
- Sea freight from China is now too slow for this year's sale. Fly hero SKUs and book sea stock for DSF and Ramadan 2027.
White Friday is the Gulf's Black Friday. It's the one week of the year when shoppers in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai wait to buy.
In 2026, Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November. Amazon, noon and thousands of online stores should run deals from about 20 to 30 November.
That's under four weeks away. It's still enough time to win the week, if you book deals and stock now.
Here's the plan for Amazon and your own store, with the licences and a worked margin example. More events are in our seasonal marketing guides.
When is White Friday 2026?
Plan for about 20–30 November, peaking on Black Friday, 27 November. That's the last Friday of the month, not the 28th.
Amazon and noon confirm dates late, but the window barely moves. Saudi schools are also on break from 20 to 28 November, so families are home and shopping all week.

White Friday, Yellow Friday and Black Friday: what's the difference?
They're the same season under three names.
Souq launched White Friday in 2014, and Amazon kept the name when it bought Souq. Friday is the holy day of the week in the Gulf, so "white" replaced "black". Noon launched Yellow Friday in 2018, after its brand colour.
| Name | Who runs it | Where |
|---|---|---|
| White Friday | Amazon.sa and Amazon.ae | Saudi Arabia, UAE, wider GCC |
| Yellow Friday | noon | Saudi Arabia, UAE |
| Black Friday | Brands, retailers and online stores | Everywhere |
Shoppers treat all three as one sale. Selling on noon? Our noon Yellow Friday playbook covers its deal types, FBN cut-offs and returns.
Why White Friday is worth planning for
It's the biggest sale of the Gulf year, and shoppers arrive ready to spend:
- Traffic lifts every listing. The marketplaces promote the event across their apps, so even products without a deal get more visits.
- Reviews compound. Sales and reviews earned in late November push your ranking into December and Ramadan.
Dubai agencies say sale events like this can drive 30–40% of a seller's year. That's worth a plan, not improvisation.
How to join Amazon White Friday
You join by submitting deals in Seller Central before 19 November. There's no separate sign-up.
Amazon gives you three main deal tools:
| Deal type | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Lightning Deal | A limited-time deal with a countdown, shown on the deals page | Hero SKUs with FBA stock and good reviews |
| Best Deal | A longer deal that runs across the event | Your core range, priced steadily for ten days |
| Coupon | A clip-on discount shown under the price | New products and anything that needs a nudge |
Three rules make the difference:
- Use FBA. FBA listings carry the Prime badge and qualify for Lightning Deals. In the UAE, stock is sellable 48–72 hours after Amazon receives it.
- Submit early. Deals go through review before they go live, so don't leave it to the last day.
- Pair deals with ads. Sponsored Products put your deal in front of shoppers searching the category.
Bidding tactics are in our Amazon ads guide.
Black Friday on your own store
Your Shopify, Salla or Zid store can run White Friday too. You set the dates, the codes and the offer, and you keep the full margin.
You can also add things marketplaces can't:
- Gifts and bundles. A free gift often protects margin better than another 10% off.
- Early access. Give past buyers your deal a day early by WhatsApp or email.
- Instalments. Tabby and Tamara lift order value. Saudi rules bar you from charging extra for BNPL.
The catch is traffic. You'll pay for it with ads or earn it from your own list.
A WhatsApp broadcast costs the same in November as in May, so grow your list before the sale with our WhatsApp marketing guide.

Licences and permits for your sale
A sale on your own store needs paperwork in both big markets. It's instant in Saudi Arabia and takes about a week in Dubai.
Saudi Arabia: the Ministry of Commerce discount licence
Every Saudi sale campaign needs a Ministry of Commerce discount licence, online stores included. You apply at sales.mc.gov.sa, pay SAR 300 per store, and the licence is issued straight away.
The core rules:
- At least 10% off a genuine previous price.
- At least half your products on sale for a partial sale.
- Both prices shown on each product.
- Only inside the licence dates.
The full rules are in our Saudi consumer protection guide.
UAE: the DET permit in Dubai
Dubai stores need a commercial permit from DET (the Department of Economy and Tourism) before they advertise a discount. Online-only stores aren't exempt.
Agencies report approval in about five working days, so apply two weeks ahead.
Fees depend on the permit type and your store, and our National Day and DSF guide lists them. Licensed in another emirate or a free zone? Apply to that authority instead.
Worked example: does a 25% deal pay?
A deal only helps if it still makes money. So start from your fees, not from the discount you'd like to show.
Say you sell a ceramic coffee set on Amazon.ae. It normally sells for AED 149, ships through FBA as a standard parcel under 1 kg, and costs you AED 45 landed. Home and kitchen pays a 15% referral fee on the VAT-inclusive price.
| Per unit (AED) | Normal price | White Friday deal |
|---|---|---|
| Shelf price, incl. 5% VAT | 149.00 | 112.00 |
| Price after VAT | 141.90 | 106.67 |
| Referral fee (15%) | −22.35 | −16.80 |
| FBA fee (standard parcel, up to 1 kg) | −10.50 | −10.50 |
| FBA storage, one month | −0.40 | −0.40 |
| Landed product cost | −45.00 | −45.00 |
| Profit per unit | 63.65 | 33.97 |
The deal is 25% off, but profit per unit falls by almost half. So you need about 1.9 times your normal sales just to stand still.
Now say sales triple, from 6 to 18 units a day. Over the 11 days, the deal earns about AED 6,700 against AED 4,200 at full price. Even after AED 1,500 of Sponsored Products, it comes out ahead.
Your floor is about AED 70. Below that, every sale loses money. Amazon also adds 5% VAT to its fees, which VAT-registered sellers reclaim.
Run your own SKUs through the calculator, normal price first, then your deal price:

Ad costs: November is the priciest month
Every brand in the Gulf bids for the same shoppers in the same week. So paid social costs the most in November.
The November peak was about 2.6 times the May low. The same budget buys well under half the reach.
So what should you do?
- Build audiences in October. Run video and engagement ads while CPMs are lower.
- Retarget in November. Spend the peak budget on people who already know you.
- Cut ads on low stock. A sold-out ad wastes the year's most expensive clicks.
More benchmarks by channel are in our GCC social media statistics.
Stock: your shipping deadlines
A deal on an empty listing earns nothing. Count back from the marketplace check-in cut-off, not from the sale date:
- FBA and FBN check-in closes 3–6 weeks before the event.
- Air freight reaches a Gulf warehouse in about two weeks, clearance included.
LCL sea freight takes 5–7 weeks from booking to warehouse check-in. So this year, sea stock that isn't already on the water won't make it. Fly a small top-up of your hero SKUs, and ship the rest by sea for DSF and Ramadan.
Need a forwarder that can still move air cargo this month? Compare options in our freight forwarders directory.
Your White Friday timeline, September to December
Use this plan for 2026, then repeat it next year from early September.

Notes for Saudi sellers
- The licence covers your own store. If you run a Saudi discount on your marketplace listings too, follow the same discount rules.
- Show the riyal price with VAT. Saudi prices include 15% VAT, so check the checkout total matches the sale price.
Notes for UAE sellers
- Reach Saudi from the UAE. Amazon.ae ships to Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC through Global Export, so your UAE stock can sell further.
Notes for Chinese sellers
- Mind the time difference. Gulf sales peak in the evening, which is the middle of the night in China. Set budgets and stock alerts before you log off.
- Use the inbound cashback. New cross-border sellers on Amazon get FBA inbound cashback through 30 December 2026.
The full shipping route is in our China to Saudi Arabia shipping guide, and our China sellers hub covers setup and SABER.
Frequently asked questions
In 2025, Amazon.ae started on 20 November and Amazon.sa on 21 November, with Prime members getting early access on the 20th. Both ran to 30 November. Amazon usually confirms the dates only a few weeks ahead, so plan for a similar window in 2026.
