Saudi Shipping Aggregators Compared: OTO, Torod, Zid Ship & More

A shipping aggregator lets you book SMSA, Aramex, J&T, SPL and other Saudi couriers from one dashboard at discounted rates. OTO is the best all-rounder, Torod suits pay-as-you-go and COD-heavy stores, and Salla or Zid's built-in shipping is enough for many new stores.

Key takeaways
  • Aggregators give small stores discounted courier rates with no contracts or minimums, plus one dashboard for labels, tracking and COD.
  • A Riyadh to Jeddah parcel costs about SAR 14 (SPL) to SAR 22 (SMSA) through an aggregator. COD adds SAR 3–14 depending on the courier.
  • OTO is free under 50 orders a month, then SAR 59–1,599 a month. Torod charges per shipment with no subscription.
  • Routing each order to the right courier can save a 300-order store well over SAR 1,000 a month.
  • Start with your platform's built-in shipping, add an aggregator once you want 2–3 couriers, and sign direct contracts at about 1,000 parcels a month.

Selling online in Saudi Arabia means shipping with couriers like SMSA, Aramex, J&T and SPL. Signing a contract with each one is slow, and small stores rarely get good rates.

A shipping aggregator fixes that. You connect your store once, then book any of dozens of couriers from one dashboard at rates the aggregator has already negotiated.

My verdict: OTO is the strongest all-rounder. Torod is the pick for pay-as-you-go and COD-heavy stores. And if you're on Salla or Zid, the built-in shipping may be all you need at first.

Below I compare them on couriers, price per parcel, cash on delivery (COD) payouts, integrations and returns, then work through a real monthly cost example.

What is a shipping aggregator?

A shipping aggregator is software that sits between your store and many couriers. It shows you each courier's price for an order, prints the label, tracks the parcel and collects your COD cash.

Why does that matter in Saudi Arabia? No courier holds more than about 15% of the ecommerce delivery market. Each one is strong in different cities, so most stores end up using two or three.

An aggregator gives you that choice without the paperwork:

  • Discounted rates with no negotiation, contracts or minimums.
  • One dashboard for labels, tracking and returns across every courier.
  • One COD balance, instead of chasing several couriers for your cash.
  • Rules that pick a courier automatically by city, weight or payment method.

Do you need one if you're on Salla or Zid?

Not always. Salla connects you to 200+ shipping partners on every plan, and Zid Ship gives you 35 couriers through one contract. For a new store shipping a few orders a day, that's plenty.

An aggregator earns its place once you want more couriers, warehouse tools, smarter routing or a single view across several sales channels. Our Salla pricing guide and Zid pricing guide explain what each platform's shipping costs.

OTO and Torod are independent platforms that work with any store. Salla shipping and Zid Ship only work inside their own platform. Shipox is different again: it runs your own delivery fleet.

OTO: the all-rounder

OTO is a Saudi multi-courier platform that also handles returns and warehouse picking. It claims connections to 460+ local and international couriers, including SMSA, Aramex, J&T, SPL, Naqel, iMile, AyMakan and Shipa.

Its plans are published, which makes budgeting easy:

OTO planPrice a monthOrders a month
FreeSAR 0Under 50
StarterSAR 5950–1,000
ScaleSAR 279250–5,000
ProSAR 1,5991,000–10,000

Annual billing takes 15% off. The returns module starts on Starter, and the Pro plan adds click and collect.

OTO has apps on both the Salla and Zid app stores, plus Shopify and WooCommerce. It also books cross-border lanes, such as Riyadh to Dubai.

Best for: stores that want the widest courier choice and room to grow into warehouse and returns tools.

Torod: pay per shipment

Torod is a Saudi logistics platform built around one idea: you pay only for the parcels you send. There's no signup fee and no monthly plan.

It claims 240+ courier connections and 10 million+ parcels a year. Its strengths are operational:

  • A single COD wallet with settlement reports per courier.
  • Rule-based courier selection, for example by city or order value.
  • Courier performance analytics and delivery-time (SLA) monitoring.
  • A returns dashboard with policy-based routing, plus a packaging store.

Torod connects to Salla through an official app, and its WooCommerce plugin advertises weekly COD payouts. Rates show in your dashboard once you sign up.

Best for: COD-heavy stores and sellers with uneven monthly volume who don't want a subscription.

Salla shipping and Zid Ship: the built-in option

Both Saudi store platforms come with shipping already wired in. You buy discounted labels from your dashboard, and tracking flows straight to the customer.

  • Salla links 200+ partners, including Aramex, SMSA, J&T, Naqel and DHL. Each courier sets its own COD fee.
  • Zid Ship connects 35 couriers, including Aramex, SMSA, J&T, Naqel and Saudi Post. You pay per label or buy bundles, and Zid adds no fee on returned parcels.

Best for: new stores on one platform, shipping a handful of orders a day.

Shipox and other names you'll see

Shipox is often listed with the aggregators, but it does a different job. It's delivery management software for couriers and stores that run their own drivers, with a driver app, proof of delivery, route planning and COD tracking.

You'll also see SideUp, a Saudi aggregator with a Shopify app that covers Saudi and Egypt lanes. Carriyo and ClickPost serve large brands with their own courier contracts, and Locad is a 3PL with a built-in courier engine.

What will you pay per parcel?

Through an aggregator, a standard domestic parcel costs about SAR 10 to a locker and up to about SAR 22 with SMSA. Price depends on courier, weight and speed.

SPL is the cheapest of the big four on this lane. SMSA costs the most but reaches small towns best.

Prices like these are why routing matters. The cheapest courier for a light prepaid parcel in Jeddah isn't always the best one for a COD order in a small town.

Worked example: one courier vs smart routing

Take a Riyadh store shipping 300 orders a month. The average order is SAR 200, and 40% of customers pay cash on delivery.

Store A books every order with Aramex through Salla's built-in shipping, at the same SAR 19.26 label price. Aramex charges SAR 8 plus 1% of the order for COD there. On a SAR 200 order, that's SAR 10.

Store B uses OTO Starter. It sends prepaid orders with SPL, the cheapest courier on the lane, and keeps Aramex for COD orders.

Why Aramex for cash orders? It's the practitioner default for COD in big cities. Aramex is fast there, and a shopper who gets the parcel a day or two after ordering is less likely to change their mind at the door.

Monthly cost (SAR)Store A: one courierStore B: routed through OTO
Prepaid parcels (180)3,466.80 (Aramex, 19.26 each)2,520.00 (SPL, 14 each)

Total6,978.005,610.20

Store B saves about SAR 1,370 a month. That's roughly SAR 16,400 a year, before any savings on fewer refused parcels.

Your own lanes and weights will move these numbers. Run last month's orders through two aggregators' rate calculators before you choose.

COD fees and payout timing

COD is where aggregators really earn their keep. The courier collects cash at the door, the aggregator gathers it into one balance, and you get one payout instead of five.

Through OTO, the courier's COD fee runs from SAR 3 to SAR 14 per parcel. Our cash on delivery guide charts each courier's fee.

Payout speed matters as much as the fee. Cash sitting with a courier is cash you can't spend on stock or ads.

Here, aggregators and platform shipping beat most direct contracts. They pay anywhere from twice a week to twice a month, while sellers with direct courier contracts typically wait 7–14 business days.

Returns, failed deliveries and tracking

A failed delivery costs you twice: once to send, once to bring back. The right dashboard helps you catch problems before the parcel returns.

A Saudi store owner at a desk comparing courier rates and parcel tracking on a laptop dashboard, with labelled parcels and a label printer beside her
One dashboard for every courier: rates, labels, tracking and COD in one place.

Look for these tools when you compare:

  • Exception alerts when a parcel is stuck, refused or the address fails.
  • Branded tracking pages in Arabic, so customers know when to expect the driver.
  • Reverse labels customers can trigger themselves, with a return reason.
  • Courier scorecards that compare first-attempt delivery by city.

Torod's analytics and OTO's returns module both cover most of this. Pair either with WhatsApp order confirmation and a required National Address field at checkout. Our guide to cutting COD return-to-origin shows how.

Which aggregator should you pick?

Start with what you already have, and add tools as orders grow. Here's how it breaks down by store type:

  • New Salla or Zid store (under 10 orders a day). Use the built-in shipping. Add OTO Free when you want a second or third courier.
  • Shopify or WooCommerce brand. Go with OTO or Torod from day one, since neither platform has strong Saudi courier support built in.
  • COD-heavy store (over 40% cash). Try Torod for its COD wallet and settlement reports, or OTO Starter if you also want returns tools.
  • Growing brand (300+ orders a month). OTO Starter or Scale, with routing rules by city and payment method.
  • Store with its own stock in a 3PL. Let the 3PL book couriers on its contract, and compare its rates against an aggregator once a quarter.
  • Store with its own drivers. Shipox, with an aggregator as backup for cities your fleet doesn't cover.

Once you pass about 1,000 parcels a month, ask SMSA, Aramex and J&T for direct quotes. Our Saudi couriers guide compares each one's strengths.

How to set up a shipping aggregator

  1. 1

    Pull last month's orders

Note cities, weights and the share paid by COD. That's the data you'll price against.

  2. 2

    Install two apps

Add OTO and Torod from your Salla, Zid or Shopify app store. Both are free to start.

  3. 3

    Connect two or three couriers

A common start is SMSA for small towns, Aramex for big cities and SPL for light parcels.

  4. 4

    Set routing rules

Route by city, weight and payment method, so each order goes to its best courier.

  5. 5

Run 30 days of real orders

Track cost, first-attempt delivery, refusals and how fast COD reaches your bank.

  6. 6

    Keep the winner, renegotiate yearly

Move to direct contracts once volume justifies it, and keep the aggregator as backup.

Notes for Shopify and WooCommerce stores

  • The official Aramex and SMSA Shopify apps are both rated 1.7 out of 5, so most stores use an aggregator instead.
  • Live courier rates at Shopify checkout need carrier-calculated shipping on your plan. Flat rates by zone work fine to start.
  • On WooCommerce, the Torod and OTO plugins both print labels and sync COD status back to orders.
  • See our Shopify setup guide for the GCC for shipping zones and payments.

Notes for foreign and Chinese sellers

  • Aggregators handle domestic Saudi delivery. Getting stock into the Kingdom is a separate job for a freight forwarder.
  • Domestic COD cash lands in a Saudi bank account, so you'll need a Saudi entity or a partner who collects for you. Cross-border COD couriers such as iMile and J&T can remit abroad, but payouts and returns are slower.
  • The easiest route is a Saudi 3PL that stores your stock and books couriers on its own account. Compare options in our Saudi 3PL directory.
  • J&T Express, available through OTO and Salla, offers Chinese-language support and links to China-side consolidation.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on your volume. Under 50 orders a month, OTO's Free plan costs nothing, so you only pay courier rates. Above that, compare OTO's monthly plan against Torod's per-shipment pricing on your real lanes for one month, then keep whichever leaves you more per order.
