- Riyadh studios usually quote per shoot day or per SKU tier, so a written brief is the fastest way to a price.
- A studio day covers about 20–40 SKUs, which tells you how many days to budget.
- Saudi quotes add 15% VAT. Ask for a VAT invoice from a studio with a CR.
- Brief Salla and Zid formats as well as Amazon.sa and noon crops, plus Arabic and English packshot variants.
- Saudi freelancers can work under a free Freelance Document. Ask for it before you pay.
Saudi shoppers buy with their eyes. On Salla, Zid, Amazon.sa and noon, your photos are the closest they get to holding the product.
And demand for good images keeps growing. Saudi Arabia had 48,497 registered ecommerce businesses by mid-2026, and each one needs a catalogue that looks the part.
Riyadh now has studios that shoot with Saudi models, deliver bilingual packshots and crop for every local platform. Here's how they price, what to brief and who to call. For Dubai studios, editing services and AI tools, see our main list of product photography studios in the Middle East.
Where should Saudi sellers get their product photos?
Most Saudi sellers have four routes. The right one depends on where your stock is and how much styling you need.
| Riyadh studio | Freelance photographer | 3PL with photography | Shoot yourself + editing | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Models, lifestyle sets, video, full launches | Small batches and social content | Stock already in a fulfilment centre | Simple products under about 20 SKUs |
| Example | Darb Productions | Freelancers on a Freelance Document | Salasa | Pixelz, from US$0.95 an image |
| Saudi models and settings | Sometimes | Ask | ||
| Marketplace crops included | Usually | Ask | Ask | Yes, to your spec |
| How it's priced | Shoot day or per-SKU tier | Per session or per image | Quote-based | Per image plus subscription |
A studio earns its fee on people, places and video. If you sell phone cases or kitchen tools on a white background, a phone, a light tent and an editing service can be enough.
Most Saudi studios are in Riyadh. Brands in Jeddah or Dammam often send samples to Riyadh, or book a studio that travels to them.
How do Riyadh studios price a shoot?
Riyadh studios rarely publish a rate card. Instead, they quote from your brief, usually in one of three ways:
- A shoot-day package for small batches, often up to about 20 SKUs.
- Per-SKU tiers for mid-size catalogues of roughly 20–100 SKUs.
- A monthly retainer for brands that launch new products every month.
Darb Productions uses all three and says it quotes within one business day. Saudi quotes then add 15% VAT.
Need a benchmark? Dubai studios publish per-packshot rates, which are listed on our UAE studio page. Use them to sanity-check a Riyadh quote, not as a fixed price.
Worked example: planning a 30-SKU Salla launch
Say you're launching 30 skincare products on your Salla store and noon. Each SKU needs six images: a white main image, three angles, one texture close-up and one lifestyle shot.
| Planning line | Number |
|---|---|
| Images needed | 30 SKUs × 6 = 180 |
| Studio days at 20–40 SKUs a day | 1–2 days |
| Lifestyle set with a Saudi model | Usually a separate half day or day |
| VAT on the studio invoice | 15% |
| DIY alternative: 180 edits at Pixelz | 180 × US$0.95 + one US$95 month = US$266 (about SAR 1,000) |
So you'd ask Riyadh studios to quote two packshot days plus one lifestyle day. The DIY line leaves out your camera kit, your time and the lifestyle shots, which still need a model and a set.
What should you brief a Saudi studio to deliver?
Brief the platforms first, then the look. Saudi sellers usually list on several channels, and each wants its own crop.
Here's what to put in the brief:
- noon and Amazon.sa crops. Both want a pure white main image. Noon asks for a JPEG at least 660 px wide with the product filling 70–80% of the frame. Copy the rest from our Amazon and noon image spec table and the noon listing optimization guide.
- Salla and Zid formats. Square store images plus banner crops for your homepage. Compare the two in our Salla vs Zid guide.
- Bilingual variants. Arabic and English versions of any packshot or infographic with text.
- Saudi casting. Saudi models in modest styling, in Saudi homes and settings.
Saudi imagery follows clear rules on modesty, family scenes and what to leave out. Brief them from our guide to cultural localization for the Gulf, so your studio gets them right first time.
Do you need video and 360 spins too?
For your top sellers, often yes. A short clip shows size, texture and how the product works better than a fourth still image.
Riyadh studios increasingly shoot video in the same session as the packshots. Darb Productions, for example, lists 15–30 second product videos, 360 spins and macro shots.

Here's where each format pays off:
- Product video on noon. An MP4 under two minutes and 8 MB. A 20–30 second clip of the product in use is plenty.
- 360 spins. Useful on your own Salla, Zid or Shopify store for gadgets, shoes and perfume bottles.
- Vertical clips. Snapchat and TikTok ads want 9:16 video, so ask for a vertical cut of every clip.
Booking video on the same day saves a second studio fee and a second round of samples. Ask for it as a separate line in the quote, so you can drop it if the budget's tight.
Product photography providers in Saudi Arabia
These three providers shoot or source images for Saudi sellers: a Riyadh studio, a marketplace agency covering Amazon.sa and the Amazon directory of imaging providers. All were independently researched and aren't ranked. Each card's bullet points are what the provider says about itself.

How do you choose a photographer in Saudi Arabia?
Choose on Saudi casting, platform crops and a clear invoice. Then prove it with a small test set.
- 1
Write one brief
SKU count, shot list per SKU, platforms, model needs and deadline. Send the same brief to every studio.
- 2
Check the paperwork
Ask for the studio's CR or the freelancer's Freelance Document, and a VAT invoice where it applies.
- 3
Review Saudi work
Ask for samples shot with Saudi models and for Salla, Zid or Amazon.sa listings.
- 4
Compare quotes line by line
Days or SKUs, images per SKU, retouching, rush fees, VAT and usage rights.
- 5
Shoot a test set
Start with 1–3 SKUs. Upload them to noon or Amazon.sa and check they pass before booking the rest.
Notes for foreign and Chinese sellers
- Keep your factory packshots. Then book a Riyadh studio for the model and home scenes once stock lands.
- Use your 3PL. If a Saudi fulfilment company holds your stock, ask it to shoot there. Compare 3PL and fulfilment companies in Saudi Arabia.
- Mind the paperwork. A freelancer needs their own Freelance Document, and a studio needs a CR, so your invoices stand up in your books.
Notes for Salla and Zid stores
- Plan banners with the packshots. Homepage and category banners need wide crops, so ask for them on the same day.
- Shoot for Ramadan and National Day early. Seasonal sets take planning, and studios get busy before the peaks.
- Reuse for ads. The same lifestyle set can feed Snapchat and TikTok ads if your licence covers paid use.
Notes for fashion and beauty brands
- Show abayas on Saudi models. Fit and drape sell abayas, so a mannequin shot alone rarely does the job.
- Use light grey if it suits the range. Noon accepts a light grey main-image background for fashion.
- Book macro for oud and creams. Darb Productions lists macro shots, and textures sell beauty.
- Add the size worn. A line on the image with model height and size cuts returns. See our guide to Saudi product pages that convert.

Frequently asked questions
Most Riyadh studios don't publish prices. They quote per shoot day for small batches and per SKU for bigger ones. Darb Productions, for example, says it sends a quote within one business day. Dubai's published rates of about AED 50–250 per packshot are a useful benchmark when you compare.
