How to use the calculator
It takes about a minute per product:
- 1
Pick a marketplace
Choose Amazon.sa, Amazon.ae, noon KSA or noon UAE. Prices switch to SAR or AED automatically.
- 2
Choose your category
The category sets the referral fee. The rate shows under the menu, including any price bands.
- 3
Enter your price and cost
Use the VAT-inclusive price the shopper pays. For cost, use your landed cost per unit: product, freight and duty.
- 4
Set size and fulfilment
Pick the size and weight tier, then marketplace fulfilment (FBA or FBN) or self-ship. For self-ship, type your real courier rate.
- 5
Read your profit
The results show your payout, net VAT, profit and margin, plus a bar of where every riyal or dirham goes.
What's included, and how it works
The calculator runs on the marketplaces' published rate cards. Here's what goes into each result:
- Referral fee. A percentage of the VAT-inclusive price, set by category, with a minimum of 1 SAR or AED per item. Some categories use price bands. On noon KSA, for example, phones above SAR 750 pay a lower rate.
- Fulfilment fee. The FBA or FBN fee for your size tier. It's slightly higher when the price is above 25. FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) and FBN (Fulfilled by noon) mean the marketplace stores, packs and ships your stock.
- Self-ship. For Amazon, the field is prefilled with Easy Ship rates. For noon's FBP (DirectShip), noon reimburses part of the shipping the customer paid on orders up to 500, and the calculator adds that back.
- VAT. 15% in Saudi Arabia and 5% in the UAE, charged on the fees. If you're VAT-registered, you reclaim that and remit VAT on the sale.
noon rates follow its 10 September 2026 rate cards for KSA and UAE. Amazon rates follow the schedule in force since 1 August 2025.
How to read your results
Start with profit per unit. That's what lands in your bank after fees, VAT and product cost.
Then check two more lines:
- Payout per unit. What the marketplace transfers to you. It's bigger than your profit because your product cost and VAT still come out of it.
- Margin. Profit as a share of the price. If you're VAT-registered, it's measured on the price without VAT, so you compare like with like.
A "loss-making" warning means the price doesn't cover your costs. Try a higher price, a cheaper size tier or another marketplace.
Worked example: a T-shirt on noon KSA vs Amazon.sa
Say you sell a cotton T-shirt for SAR 89. It costs you SAR 25 landed, weighs under 500 g and ships with the marketplace's fulfilment. You're VAT-registered.
| noon KSA (FBN) | Amazon.sa (FBA) | |
|---|---|---|
| Referral fee | SAR 24.03 (27%) | SAR 13.35 (15%) |
| Fulfilment fee | SAR 9.50 | SAR 9.50 |
| VAT on fees | SAR 5.03 | SAR 3.43 |
| Payout per unit | SAR 50.44 | SAR 62.72 |
| Profit per unit | SAR 18.86 | SAR 29.54 |
| Margin (ex-VAT) | 24.4% | 38.2% |
Fulfilment costs the same on both. The referral fee makes all the difference.
Switch the category to home and kitchen, though, and both charge 14%. Same product, same profit. That's why it pays to test your actual category, not a general rule.
