- Start with stock mailers from a local shop or your 3PL. Order printed packaging once your box sizes and volumes are stable.
- Printed packaging is priced per unit with volume breaks. Setup fees, freight and duty change the real unit cost, so compare landed prices.
- Size boxes to your products. Couriers and marketplaces bill on volumetric weight, so empty space costs money.
- Test tapes, adhesives and inks in summer heat before a big run. Gulf parcels can sit in hot vans for hours.
- From 1 October 2026, products under ten Saudi technical regulations must show the supplier's name and CR number, so brief your packaging printer now.
Your packaging is the first thing a Gulf shopper touches. It has to survive a hot delivery van and look good when it's opened on camera.
Good news: the region makes a lot of packaging. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are home to some of the biggest carton, bag and film makers in the Middle East.
So you don't need to ship every box from abroad. You need the right box, at the right volume, from the right kind of supplier.
You'll find 9 independently researched packaging suppliers below, plus typical prices and MOQs, and the rules on heat, Arabic labels and marketplace prep. It's part of our directory of GCC service providers.
When do you need a packaging supplier?
You need one as soon as you pack your own orders or want branded boxes at your 3PL. Before that, your courier, 3PL or marketplace can supply plain packaging per order.
Most sellers move through three stages:
- Launch. Plain stock mailers from a local shop, your courier or your 3PL. No MOQ, slightly higher unit price.
- Growth. Printed mailer boxes or poly mailers with your logo, ordered in runs of 1,000 or more.
- Scale. An annual contract with a GCC manufacturer or a Chinese factory, with stock called off as you need it.
So which stage are you in? If you ship fewer than a few hundred orders a month, stock packaging is fine. Spend the money on getting your first box sizes right.
Which packaging fits your products?
Match the packaging to what you sell and how it travels. A dress and a perfume bottle need very different protection.
| Best for | Typical MOQ | Where to buy | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corrugated mailer box | Beauty, fragrance, electronics, gifts and anything fragile or premium | 1,000+ printed; stock boxes by the pack | UAE and Saudi box makers, Chinese factories |
| Poly mailer | Apparel, abayas, textiles and soft goods | Small stock packs; 1,000+ printed | Local packaging shops, courier and 3PL stores |
| Padded or bubble mailer | Small accessories, jewellery and phone cases | Small stock packs | Local packaging shops |
| Rigid gift box | Eid gift sets, fragrance, dates and luxury items | Quote-based, per design | Specialist printers, Chinese factories |
| Paper bags and flexible pouches | Food, coffee, sweets and grocery | Large, quote-based for printed film | Regional manufacturers such as Napco, Falcon Pack and Al Bayader |
| 3PL-supplied packaging | Sellers who want no packaging stock at all | None, billed per order | Your 3PL or marketplace fulfilment |
Here's a simple rule of thumb:
- Selling fashion? Poly mailers do the job and weigh almost nothing.
- Selling beauty or gifts? A printed mailer box is worth it, because Gulf shoppers share unboxing videos.
- Selling food? Talk to a regional food packaging maker, because food packs carry strict label rules.
Most of the big GCC makers grew up in food service. Ask them for their ecommerce range of cartons, mailers and paper bags.

How much does ecommerce packaging cost?
Packaging is priced per unit, with breaks at higher volumes. Printing adds a one-off setup cost for plates or cliches (the printing stamps), which is why small printed runs cost more per box.
| Pricing model | How it works | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Stock packaging | Fixed price per pack of 25–100 | Easy to start, highest unit price |
| Printed run | Per unit with volume breaks | Plate or cliche setup fees, artwork changes |
| Annual contract | Agreed price, stock called off monthly | Minimum yearly volume, storage at the supplier |
| 3PL packaging fee | Charged per order, often AED/SAR 1–5 | Which box sizes are included |
| Marketplace prep | Per unit, such as polybagging at check-in | Adds up fast across thousands of units |
Bigger boxes, more colours and premium board all push the unit price up. Ask for prices at two or three volumes, so you can see where the breaks fall.
Worked example: why box size matters
Couriers and fulfilment centres bill on the higher of actual or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in cm, divided by a factor such as 5,000.
Say you sell a 400 g skincare set:
| Box | Size (cm) | Volumetric weight | Billed weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Generic stock box | 30 × 25 × 15 | 2.25 kg | 2.25 kg |
| Right-sized mailer | 20 × 15 × 8 | 0.48 kg | 0.5 kg (packed weight) |
Packed with about 100 g of box and filler, the small mailer weighs 0.5 kg, so you pay on that. The stock box bills you for 2.25 kg, more than four times as much, on every single order.

How do you pack for Gulf summers?
Plan for heat. Parcels can sit in delivery vans and on doorsteps for hours in summer, when temperatures pass 45°C.
Heat causes three common problems:
- Tape lets go. Cheap acrylic tape softens and boxes pop open in transit.
- Poly mailers stick or warp. Thin film can seal to itself or to the product.
- Contents suffer. Chocolate, candles, cosmetics and some electronics don't like the heat.
For example, drop-test a sample box, then leave it in a car in the midday sun for a day. If the tape and the print still hold, you're ready.
For heat-sensitive goods, add insulated liners or cool packs, and ask your 3PL about air-conditioned storage. Faster delivery helps too, which is why many beauty brands keep stock close to the shopper.
What labels does your packaging need?
Retail packaging in the Gulf needs Arabic. The outer shipping box doesn't, but the product's own pack usually does.
The main rules to brief your printer on:
- Arabic text. Food labels must be in Arabic, or Arabic plus an identical second language. Saudi rules also expect Arabic labels on regulated consumer products.
- Country of origin. "Made in China" or similar, on the product and its pack.
- Supplier name and CR. From 1 October 2026, products under ten Saudi technical regulations must show the supplier's name and CR (commercial registration) number. For imports, that's you, the importer.
- No Chinese-only text. Keep consumer-facing text in Arabic and English.
Food stickers have strict limits. Under GSO 9 (the Gulf food labelling regulation), one irremovable Arabic sticker from the manufacturer is allowed, but dates can't go on a sticker.
The full certification flow is in our SABER certificate guide. Field-by-field label rules are in our GCC product labelling guide.
What are the marketplace packaging rules?
Amazon and noon both set prep rules for stock sent into their warehouses. Get them right before your boxes leave the factory.
The basics for Amazon FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) and noon FBN (Fulfilled by noon):
- Scannable barcodes. Every unit needs a barcode the warehouse can scan, on the outside of the pack.
- Polybag loose items. Clothing, textiles and multi-piece sets should be bagged and sealed.
- Protect fragile goods. Glass and liquids need bubble wrap or a sturdy inner box.
- Label every carton. Shipment and carton labels go on at origin, not at the Gulf port.
Both marketplaces can do some prep for a per-unit fee. That's handy for a first shipment, but cheaper to do at origin once you scale. Our UAE packaging guide works through noon's prep fees on a real inbound.
For inbound steps and appointments, see Amazon FBA in Saudi Arabia and noon fulfilment options.
How do you plan gift packaging for Ramadan and Eid?
Gifting drives the Gulf's biggest sales season. Ramadan starts around 8 February 2027, and Eid gift shopping starts during the month.
So your gift boxes need to be ready well before Ramadan. If they come from China, count 10–12 weeks from factory order to sale day, production included.
- Mid-Nov 2026Order printed gift boxes
Lock artwork and order from your factory, so production and sea freight finish before January.
- Early Dec 2026Approve samples and ship
Check colour, board and fit on the pre-production sample, then ship the finished run.
- Late Dec – mid-JanPackaging and stock at your 3PL
Marketplace check-in usually closes 3–6 weeks before the event.
- ~8 Feb 2027Ramadan starts
Gift wrap and Arabic gift messages should be live at checkout.
- ~9 Mar 2027Eid al-Fitr
The peak for gift sets, fragrance and sweets.
What goes inside the box matters as much as the box. Our guide to cultural localization covers gift messages, hidden prices and the colours that work in the Gulf.
Are eco-friendly packaging options available?
Yes. Regional makers offer paper mailers, recycled corrugated boxes and paper bags, and some can supply FSC-certified board (from responsibly managed forests).
A few easy wins:
- Right-size every box. Less void fill and lower volumetric weight.
- Swap plastic fill for paper. Crinkle paper or honeycomb wrap protects just as well for most goods.
- Use one material. An all-paper box is easier for shoppers to recycle.
Ask each supplier for recycled content and FSC certificates in writing, so you can make the claim on your packaging.
Packaging suppliers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE
The companies below were independently researched. They aren't ranked, and the order isn't a recommendation.
On each card, the "Best for" line is our summary of where the company fits. The bullet points are what the company says about itself, or what the press has reported.
The big regional manufacturers serve both countries, so they appear in both lists. Small sellers should look first at the Saudi packaging stores and 3PL options.

How do you choose a packaging supplier in 6 steps?
Start with your products, not the supplier. Once your sizes and volumes are clear, quotes are easy to compare.
- 1
Measure your best sellers
Pick two or three box sizes that fit your top products with about 1–2 cm of padding.
- 2
Choose the material
Corrugated mailers for fragile or premium goods, poly mailers for apparel, padded mailers for small items.
- 3
Decide local or China
Local suppliers for speed and small runs. Chinese factories for printed mailers at 5,000 units or more.
- 4
Get samples and test them
Drop-test them, pack the real product and leave them in summer heat for a day.
- 5
Compare the landed cost per unit
Add setup fees, freight, duty, VAT and delivery to your 3PL, at your real MOQ.
- 6
Check the label artwork
Arabic text, country of origin and your name and CR where Saudi rules require them.
What should you ask before you order?
Ask every supplier on your shortlist the same questions. Clear, written answers make quotes easy to compare.
Notes for Chinese sellers and China sourcing
- Pack at the factory. Put products in their retail packs in China, with Arabic labels already printed.
- Ship packaging with the stock. Add your mailers to the same LCL (shared container) load to save a separate shipment.
- Count the sea time. LCL takes 25–35 days port to port. Allow 5–7 weeks from booking to check-in at your warehouse, FBN or FBA.
- Approve samples by courier. Get a printed sample by air before the factory runs thousands of boxes.

Frequently asked questions
Rarely. The big regional makers such as Hotpack, Napco and Falcon Pack sell by quote, so send every supplier the same brief with sizes, print and volumes. Fixed online prices are mostly for stock items, sold through a shipping platform's store or a maker's webstore.
