- We migrate products, variants, images, customers and order history from Zid to Shopify, then check every record against your Zid export.
- Every indexed Zid URL gets a one-to-one 301 redirect, including percent-encoded Arabic slugs, so your Google rankings follow you.
- Zid Payments, Zid Ship and Zid's built-in invoicing stay behind. We set up a local gateway, Tabby, Tamara, Saudi couriers and a ZATCA app on Shopify.
- Your Zid store stays live and taking orders until the Shopify store has passed test orders in Arabic and English.
Zid is a great place to start a Saudi store. When you want to sell across the Gulf and beyond, Shopify is often the next step.
The move itself is very doable. The risk is in the pieces Zid ran for you: payments, shipping, invoicing and marketplace links. Miss one and checkout or compliance breaks on launch day.
That's what we take off your plate. We move your Zid store to Shopify, rebuild what Zid did for you, and keep Zid live until the new store is ready.
Who is this Zid to Shopify migration for?
It's for brands running a live Zid store that have decided Shopify is the next step. Most move for reach: Shopify Markets sells to several countries from one store, each with its own currency, language and domain. Shopify also offers 8,000+ apps against Zid's 400+.
It fits best if you are one of these:
- Saudi brands expanding across the GCC. You want proper UAE, Kuwait or Qatar storefronts with their own prices and languages.
- Brands selling outside the Gulf. Europe, the US or the wider Arab world need tools Zid doesn't focus on.
- Stores that need more apps or design freedom. Your roadmap needs subscriptions, bundles or a custom theme.
- Groups standardising on Shopify. A parent company or sister brand already runs Shopify and wants one setup.
Still deciding? Our Shopify vs Zid comparison lays out fees, payments and shipping side by side.
What replaces Zid's built-in tools on Shopify?
Your data moves across. Zid's built-in services don't, so each one needs a Shopify replacement:
| On Zid | On Shopify (what we set up) | |
|---|---|---|
| Cards, mada, Apple Pay | Zid Payments, or a connected gateway | A local gateway such as Moyasar, HyperPay, PayTabs or Tap |
| Buy now, pay later | Tabby, Tamara, MISPay and others through Zid Payments | Tabby and Tamara Shopify apps with your own merchant accounts |
| Cash on delivery | Built in | Manual payment method, plus a COD verification app if needed |
| Shipping | Zid Ship: 35 couriers, one contract | Courier apps such as Aramex and SMSA, or your 3PL |
| ZATCA e-invoicing | VAT invoice settings (Growth plan and up) | A ZATCA-compliant invoicing app or ERP connector |
| Shop tills | Zid Cashier | A POS that syncs stock with Shopify |
| Marketplace links | Amazon, Trendyol, Jahez and Mazeed | Shopify channel apps; Mazeed stays on Zid |
| Store design | Zid theme | An RTL-ready Shopify theme in Arabic and English |
The data is the easy part. These rows are where a migration succeeds or stalls, so they get the most attention in our plan.
What's included in our Zid to Shopify migration?
Every project covers six areas. We scope each one to your store, so you only pay for what you need.
1. Your data: products, customers and orders
We export from Zid, through its files or its API, and import into Shopify in order: products, customers, then order history. That includes:
- Products and variants, each with its own SKU, price, stock and images.
- Categories, rebuilt as Shopify collections with the same structure.
- Arabic and English content, each in its own language field, plus pages and blog posts.
- Customers, with phone numbers cleaned to the +966 format couriers expect.
- Order history, linked to each customer, with order emails switched off during import.
Zid's API export is fuller than its spreadsheets, which helps with big catalogues and years of orders. We pick whichever gives your store the cleanest data.
A dry run comes first. We compare record counts against your Zid export, then check a sample of products on a phone in Arabic and English before the real import.
2. Redirects and Arabic SEO
Zid and Shopify use different URL patterns, so every product and category gets a new address. We crawl your live Zid store, pull every indexed URL from Search Console, and give each one a one-to-one 301 redirect.
Arabic slugs are copied exactly as Google indexed them, in percent-encoded form. Arabic pages redirect to Arabic pages and English to English, with meta titles and hreflang carried over.
Want to see the method? Our Shopify Arabic SEO guide walks through it.
3. Payments: mada, Apple Pay, Tabby, Tamara and COD
Zid Payments stays with Zid, and Shopify Payments isn't available in Saudi Arabia. So we connect a local gateway for mada and cards, and test every method before launch.
Already using Moyasar, HyperPay, PayTabs or Tap on Zid? Then you may only need to add Shopify to your existing merchant account. If Tabby or Tamara ran through Zid Payments, you'll need your own merchant accounts, and we handle those applications for you.
Approvals sit with the providers, so we start them first, while the data work runs alongside. Compare options in our guide to Shopify payment gateways in Saudi Arabia.

4. Shipping and the National Address
Zid Ship gave you one contract and one label screen. On Shopify, we set up shipping zones for Saudi Arabia and each GCC country you serve. Then we connect your couriers directly or through your 3PL.
Zid Ship's rates came from Zid's own courier deals. Ask Aramex, SMSA or your 3PL for a direct quote early, so your delivery prices are ready before launch.
Saudi couriers can refuse parcels without a valid National Address. Shopify's checkout has no Short Address field, so we add one in Arabic and make it required. The Saudi National Address guide explains the rule.
5. ZATCA e-invoicing
Zid issues ZATCA-ready invoices from its VAT settings. Shopify doesn't, so you need an e-invoicing app or ERP connector.
We help you pick a ZATCA-qualified provider and connect it before your first live order.
That matters now, because Wave 25 brings Phase 2 integration to small sellers. It covers businesses above SAR 187,500 in VAT-subject revenue. The deadline is 1 February 2027.
Our ZATCA e-invoicing guide covers the waves.
6. Theme, apps and Zid's extras
We set up an RTL-ready Shopify theme in Arabic and English and rebuild your key pages. Then we replace each Zid app with a Shopify equivalent, from reviews and loyalty to WhatsApp messages and COD verification.
Zid also bundles a few extras that are easy to forget:
- Abandoned cart recovery. If you rely on Zid Voice or Zid's cart reminders, we set up Shopify's abandoned checkout emails and a WhatsApp app instead.
- Zid Financing. If you've taken working capital through Zid, ask how repayment works before your sales stop flowing through Zid.
- Coupons and gift cards. Discount rules are recreated in Shopify, and live codes are kept so your campaigns don't break.
How does a Zid to Shopify migration work?
Five steps, from first call to a live Shopify store. How long each takes depends on your catalogue, order history and number of markets.
- 1
Discovery
A call about your Zid store, your markets and your plans. We review your catalogue, apps, payments and couriers, and crawl your live URLs.
- 2
Plan
A written scope covering data, redirects, payments, shipping, ZATCA and design, with a quote broken down by deliverable. Work starts once you approve it.
- 3
Build
We set up Shopify behind a password, import your data, build the redirect map and connect your gateway, BNPL apps, couriers and invoicing app. Zid stays live.
- 4
Launch
Test orders on every payment method, a final top-up of new orders and customers, then we point your domain to Shopify and submit the sitemap.
- 5
Support
We watch Search Console for missing redirects and 404 errors after launch, fix what comes up and hand over to your team.
What you get at handover
When the new store goes live, you'll have:
- A live Shopify store with your products, customers and order history.
- The redirect map as a spreadsheet, showing where every old Zid URL now points.
- Tested payments and shipping on mada, Apple Pay, Tabby, Tamara and COD.
- A connected ZATCA invoicing app.
- A data check report comparing record counts between Zid and Shopify.
- Your Zid archive of product, customer, order and invoice exports.

Notes for stores with branches, B2B and marketplace channels
Zid is strong for shops that also sell in person, to businesses or on marketplaces. These need their own plan:
- Zid Cashier. Pick a POS that syncs stock with Shopify before launch day, or shop and online stock drift apart.
- Mazeed. Mazeed is Zid's own marketplace, so those listings can't move. Decide whether to keep a small Zid presence or drop the channel.
- Amazon and Trendyol. We reconnect your listings through Shopify channel apps and check stock syncs both ways.
- Jahez. Check whether your Jahez connection has a Shopify route for your category. If not, keep that channel running on Zid.
- B2B pricing. Customer-specific prices, quotes and credit terms need Shopify's B2B features or an app, depending on your plan.

What will you need to provide?
We handle the migration. A few things only you can supply:
- Zid admin access, or exports of your products, customers and orders.
- Shopify collaborator access, or we set up a new store owned by your business.
- Google Search Console and DNS access for your domain.
- Company details for gateway and BNPL applications, such as your CR (commercial registration) and VAT number.
- Your app list, from reviews and loyalty to WhatsApp.
- One decision-maker who can approve the plan and answer questions quickly.

Frequently asked questions
It depends on scope: how many products and variants you have, how many years of orders you want to keep, and how much of the store is in Arabic. After a discovery call we send a written quote broken down by deliverable, so you can see exactly what each part covers.
